COOPI - Cooperazione Internazionale Country Logistics Coordinator Jobs in Nigeria ; At the mission level, the Country Logistics Coordinator, together with his dedicated team, is responsible for all logistics and security activities in the country and plays a supporting, advisory and monitoring role vis‑à‑vis the project leaders and logistics assistants in the provinces. The role ensures that COOPI procedures and rules on procurement, logistics, document storage, equipment management, asset storage, and risk management (security, health, fraud) are known, understood and adhered to. Capacity building is an essential aspect of the position.
Responsibilities
Ensuring the Logistical Coordination of the Country
Carry out, follow‑up or validate procurement procedures, supply of goods/services, transport systems, and technical organisation of all COOPI field offices.
Ensure management of warehouses and inventory of durable goods.
Coordinate logistics function nationally and support operational bases.
Plan and organise logistical activities at national level.
Ensure proper functioning of logistics in compliance with procedures.
Keep price/supplier databases updated.
Provide updated costs and fleet situation for budget preparation.
Ensuring the Application and Implementation of Procurement Procedures
Ensure correct application of COOPI and donor procurement procedures.
Monitor supplier performance.
Archive all procurement documentation.
Participate in supplier selection and contract awards.
Support project procurement plan development.
Use COOPI software to monitor and archive documents.
Coordinating and Managing the Vehicle Fleet
Ensure administrative and operational management of vehicles, machines, and generators.
Monitor field management of fleet through reports and visits.
Check maintenance and repairs are properly carried out.
Ensure compliance with organisational and country regulations.
Asset Management
Monitor durable goods using COOPI Logistics Manual tools.
Ensure proper maintenance and rules for use of goods.
Update inventories regularly and verify during visits.
Stock Management
Monitor warehouses and reporting tools.
Ensure goods are inventoried and tracked on entry/exit.
Computer Systems Management and Maintenance
Manage installation, maintenance, and surveillance of IT, communications, and satellite equipment.
Train personnel on use of equipment.
Security
Manage security of assets and property.
Assist Country Coordinator/Project Managers
on staff security.
Develop and implement security plans and SOPs.
Collect security information and implement preventive actions.
Disseminate security procedures and conduct staff briefings.
Ensuring Personnel Management
Coordinate, supervise, and evaluate logistics staff.
Organise training for logistics teams.
Ensure compliance with residency/entry authorisation procedures.
Welcome COOPI staff at airport and arrange accommodation.
Ensuring Reporting and Documentation of Logistics
Produce all logistics reports as per COOPI procedures.
Institutional Relations
Represent COOPI in logistics cluster meetings and security briefings.
Requirements
Essential
Degree in Logistics or LLA certification in Humanitarian Logistics.
Minimum 5 years’ humanitarian logistics experience.
1–2 years’ experience in logistics coordination.
Fluent in English.
Strong organisational skills and software proficiency.
Ability to motivate teams in emergency contexts.
Good physical condition and ability to travel to remote areas.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Result orientation, creativity, initiative.
Interest in training and consulting multicultural teams.
Ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
Desirable
Previous experience in Nigeria.
