Reporting to the Head – Security Services, the Security Officer will provide efficient and effective physical security and safety services to our premises by ensuring that only authorized people and devices are allowed.

He/she will also review and assess the working of outsourced physical security services in our premises a with a view to having a secure environment.

The Role Responsibilities

Specifically, the successful jobholder will be required to:

  • Carry out physical security checks for entrance and exit of computing devices and people at our main premises.
  • Ensure proper records are maintained for the entry and exit of computing devices at our main premises.
  • Conduct general security procedures including but not limited to vetting of visitors into the building.
  • Check
    and ensure that the CCTV and alarm systems for all our premises are functional at all times.
  • Ensure only authorized people and devises access our premises.
  • Ensure physical security operations at branches are properly handled and noted exceptions escalated.
  • Monitor opening and closing of branches and escalate exemptions noted.
  • Carry out monthly alarm testing as per procedure.

    Skills, Competencies and Experience

    The successful candidate will be required to have the following skills and competencies:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a Business or Security related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Crime investigations, Institutional security and fraud investigations management.
  • Experience in crime prevention and collection of intelligence training.
  • Training in disaster preparedness and recovery.
  • Articulate with excellent communication and report writing skills.
  • Computer, report writing and presentation skills.
