Co-operative Bank of Kenya Sacco Credit Relationship Officer Jobs;The Credit Relationship Officer manages and grows the institution’s credit portfolio by developing strong member relationships, identifying financing needs, appraising credit applications and ensuring timely disbursement and repayment of loans. The role ensures compliance with credit policies, regulatory requirements and risk management standards while maintaining a high‑quality loan portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Financial

  • Set up, process and follow up credit application files.

  • Collect and analyze financial statements and documentation.

  • Prepare credit facility applications per policy, pricing and timelines.

  • Identify opportunities to cross‑sell Sacco products and services.

  • Ensure compliance with Credit Policy and processes.

    Customer Focus

  • Manage and monitor assigned loan portfolio.

  • Assess customer financial needs and align facilities accordingly.

  • Maintain customer retention and update databases.

  • Identify opportunities to meet customer needs and cross‑sell products.

  • Follow up customer complaints and ensure resolution.

  • Conduct scheduled customer calls to strengthen relationships.

    Operational

  • Maintain and update customer file schedules (KYC, call reports, maturities, security documentation, insurance, arrears).

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, AML and KYC controls.

  • Maintain accurate credit and customer records.

  • Adhere to Sacco’s Code
    of Ethics in all dealings.

    Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Commerce or related field.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in credit, business development or customer relationship management (Sacco, banking or financial services preferred).

  • Demonstrable experience in credit appraisal, loan portfolio management and customer service.

  • Knowledge of prudential guidelines, KYC and credit regulations.

  • Strong analytical, communication and relationship management skills.

  • Team‑building ability and effectiveness in diverse teams.

  • Resilient, confident, self‑motivated and results‑oriented.

  • High integrity, professionalism, confidentiality and customer service commitment.
