Co-operative Bank of Kenya Front – End Engineer Jobs



Role Overview

  • Develop new and improve existing user‑facing features for mobile and web applications.

  • Deliver responsive, cross‑browser compatible applications.

  • Use Agile practices and modern technologies to build efficient, reusable solutions.

  • Prototype and test UI/UX designs while maintaining brand consistency.

  • Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and speed.

  • Consume APIs to display, validate, and post data.

  • Secure applications with adequate controls.

  • Implement UI/UX analytics to generate insights.

  • Liaise with vendors to resolve application issues.

  • Adhere to change control procedures from conception to completion.

  • Collaborate with UI/UX design team and act as a user advocate.

  • Provide peer code reviews and support fellow engineers.

  • Research continuously for improved user experiences.

  • Contribute actively to front‑end development of web and mobile apps.

  • Use DevOps and CI/CD tools to accelerate delivery.

    Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

  • At least 3 years’ experience in front‑end mobile‑web development.

  • Experience in responsive/adaptive web development and Android/iOS development.

  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS3, Bootstrap, LESS, and SASS.

  • Strong skills
    in JavaScript frameworks (ReactJS, Angular, Vue.js, jQuery).

  • Knowledge of server‑side technologies (Node.js, PHP).

  • Understanding of AJAX, asynchronous requests, and partial page updates.

  • Proficiency in Git/Mercurial/SVN.

  • Knowledge of SEO principles.

  • Experience with RESTful APIs.

  • Knowledge of hybrid mobile apps (Cordova, Ionic, Capacitor, Flutter).

  • Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel).

  • Strong problem‑solving, logical thinking, and creativity.

  • Advantage: native Android development (Jetpack Compose/XML) or iOS (Swift UI/UI Kit).
