Job Purpose: As a cook you will be responsible for preparing food items and menu items in accordance with company standards and guidelines.
Roles & Responsibilities
Following and maintaining the standard operating procedures for food recipes as provided.
Ensure the food delivered to the guest has a great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served.
Maintenance of high hygiene standards as per the provided guidelines.
Management of all kitchen stock items, ensure correct labeling and use of FIFO.
Check the quality of ingredients used to prepare meals.
Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh
Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients
Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods
Cook food in various utensils or grillers
Review of menus and assembling food supplies and equipment for daily food preparation; and
Setting up and preparing equipment for use in food preparation.
Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
Check quality of ingredients
Any other duty assigned by management from time to time.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Served in a comparable and relevant position for a minimum period of three 3 years;
Kenya Certificate
of Secondary Education mean grade D+ Plus or its equivalent qualification;
Attended at least one 1 month formal course in Food Production from a recognized institution
Certificate in Food Production from a recognized institution.
Excellent organizational, analytical skills, communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
Ability to guide, counsel and mentor staff and students.
Outstanding managerial and administrative capability.
Ability to build personal relationships.
He/she should be flexible and adaptable enough to work in a multicultural environment.

Good communication and listening skills.
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to work well and remain calm under pressure.
Interest in food.
High standards of personal hygiene and personal grooming.
Ability to multitask.
