Background of CEHRO

  • Human Rights CSOs have been suffering as direct targets of much domineering legislative, institutional and political measures taken by the government for the past many years in Ethiopia. With the vision of creating a platform for strong and vibrant human rights CSOs for the realization of human rights and democratic values in Ethiopia, an engagement with Human Rights CSOs started in 2015.

  • This engagement and commitment created the Consortium of Ethiopian Human Rights Organizations (CEHRO) which was registered on the 16th of March 2018 (re-registered as per 1113/2019 with registration number 3932).

  • Currently, CEHRO have 12 active CSO members from different regions of the country including 5 founding members.

    Internship Position

  • CEHRO is looking for a Female Communications officer intern for a five Month period. CEHRO will provide an attractive stipend.

    Main Responsibilities

  • Support CEHRO staff in their day to day activities,

  • Work on membership development, assist members on their need.

  • Mange CEHRO website and social media platforms,

  • Plan and facilitate capacity building training for staffs of human rights CSOs about the national, international and regional human rights protection mechanisms;

  • Collect and update resources of human rights education; advocacy and research work and build an online CSOs' resource database center;

  • Laise for the public relations of CEHRO with partners and members,

    Job Requirements

    Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in law, political science, journalism, or related fields.

  • At least 2 years year work experience in communications related assignment, preferably at CSOs.

  • Can work 28 hours per week.

  • Volunteerism experience and Good communication skill with team mates.

  • Fluent in both English and Amharic.
  • Knowledge of additional local languages is an advantage.
