Concordis International Peacebuilding MEAL Officer Jobs in South Sudan; The Peacebuilding MEAL Officer will contribute to developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems in the assigned Hub. Based in Abyei Town, the role focuses on monitoring transhumance flows, conflict dynamics, social cohesion, and the impact of peacebuilding initiatives. The officer will ensure accountability, produce timely reports, and support IT and training at the Hub level.

Responsibilities

Programme Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Implement monitoring and evaluation systems for the programme at Abyei Town office.

  • Collect and analyse data on transhumance flows and conflict dynamics.

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to assess peacebuilding initiatives.

  • Monitor social cohesion among communities.

  • Identify and protect vulnerable groups, including women and girls.

  • Design implementation plans to monitor and evaluate programme delivery.

  • Provide IT support and training at the Hub level.

    Accountability & Adaptation

  • Ensure programme adapts to meet community needs.

  • Evaluate impact of climate change on conflict.

  • Monitor against Theory of Change and performance indicators.

  • Capture learning and identify what works or needs adjustment.

    Reporting

  • Produce monthly and bi‑annual reports for Hub
    and Country levels.

  • Generate clear, professional reports explaining impact and recommendations.

  • Work with Communications team to produce news items and publicise dialogue outcomes.

    Person Specification

    Essential

  • Minimum 3 years’ peacebuilding experience in complex environments.

  • Proven experience evaluating peacebuilding impact.

  • Professional English proficiency; Arabic beneficial.

  • Willingness to be based in Abyei Town and provide MEAL support.

  • Experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning of peace processes.

  • Degree in social sciences, statistics, or related field.

  • Excellent IT skills (MS Office, Kobo Collect, large dataset analysis).

  • Efficiency, resourcefulness, organisational ability, adaptability.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Familiarity with conflict‑sensitive approaches.

  • Awareness of cultural diversity and political sensitivities.

  • Commitment to Concordis’ mission, principles, and values.

  • Open to Sudanese or South Sudanese nationals only; must be prepared to live in Abyei Town without relocation allowance.

    Desirable

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.

  • Ability to work in complex, multi‑cultural environments.

  • Experience working in the region.

  • Video editing experience.

  • Training/experience in NGO Security Management.
