    Key Purpose Statement
  • The Treasury accountant is responsible for the cash flow management, ensuring funds are available to meet the daily business cash outflow requirements.


    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    Financial Management
  • Manage Balance Sheet Accounts.
  • Effect the monthly FI close procedures which initiate the close of the accounting ledger for the period in question.
  • Daily cash flow planning i.e. preparation of all internal and external financial reports related to
  • treasury, cash management.
  • Provides advice to the Manager on all areas of cash management and investments.
  • Reviews the Cash Flow requirements report to ensure funds availability to meet operational requirements.
  • Prepare forecasts to project company cash positions in the short run and the near future
  • Re-values FX denominated balance sheet accounts as required for the preparation of financial statements
  • Reconciliations reported to the receiver is 100% accurate and compliant with CCBA and Statutory regulations.
  • Payment is made to the Receiver of Revenue by the last day of every month
  • Reconciliation deviations are identified, reported and solved within one month of deviations being identified
  • Critical outstanding items on monthly balance sheet reconciliations are resolved.
  • Annual tax returns are filed timeously.


    Oversee Cash Book
  • Daily bank uploads of statements into SAP.
  • Daily reconciliations of cash and bank and highlighting of reconciling items to credit control and accounts payable.
  • Maintaining interest calculation template so as to monitor the charges levied on the overdrafts on a daily basis.
  • Posting of expense journals to staff accounts for the company raising PR’s and doing MIGO for the department.
  • Raising PRS and doing MIGO for the department.
  • Any online banking issues are resolved within relevant timeframes.
  • Cash book recons signed off within one week of month end.
  • Reconciliations signed of off before cashbook processing.


    Maintain Policies and Procedures
  • Administer and support the execution of internal audits.
  • Prepares working papers and schedules in support of month-end and year-end cash management and treasury activities.
  • Internal audits are performed as per annual plan.
  • All outstanding internal deviations are resolved.
  • 100% check of audited irregularities.
  • 100% compliance with GAAP Generally accepted accounting principles
  • 100% compliance with legal requirements.
  • 100 % compliance with internal and external audits related to policy compliance.


    People Management and Development
  • Train the cashier on online banking so as to access cash banked by customer’s real time.
  • PERFORM PDR and IDP completed for all staff.


    Maintenance of Reporting and Communication routines
  • Key point of communication between finance service institutions such as banks, and the company's finance department.
  • Ensuring that company overdraft facilities are maintained.
  • Ad hoc information was provided as per agreed deadline dates
  • 100% availability of financial information according to law regulations on request
  • Historic information available within 24 hours of request
  • All tax changes to be communicated and implemented.


    Skills, Experience & Education

    Qualification
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Business Administration or similar
  • Certified Public Accountant CPAK or ACCA Certification.


    Experience:
  • 2 years’ experience within a Finance Function.
  • Hands on experience in manufacturing environment and Treasury.
  • Practical experience of working with an ERP
