Job Description

Generate short (1-13 Weeks) and medium term (3-18 months) Materials Plans, Manage and Control, to ensure the correct quantity of materials are available to meet production demand while aligning to business strategy and the ever changing environment we operate in.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Use Outperform (OP) Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) (or an alternative approved system) to determine tactical raw material requirements against which Procurement will be required to conclude supply agreements.

  • Generate the tactical requirements and tactical forecasts

  • Understand tactical stock holding parameters per plant with the Supply Manager responsible and needs to be considered on material replenishment plans.

  • Provide input into Plant safety stock holding levels and agree Supplier safety stock levels by material using supply chain best practice. Ensure that Suppliers submit stock levels weekly and upload the information into monitors. Using the Weeks of Cover report, manage and control Supplier and Plant held stocks to achieve agreed safety stock levels on a weekly basis, in line with Working Capital targets.

  • Ensure that the monitors used, accurately calculates raw material operational requirements and correctly determines the source of supply while considering safety stock levels, MOQ’s, blocked stock, stock on hand and production plans, together with replenishment frequency. All of this done whilst considering any packaging changes due to either allocation changes, NPD changes or Technical changes. Ultimately, the aim is derive a plan (Replenishment plan for supplier) of what the supplier should be producing and when to meet CCBSA manufacturing needs.

  • Check that operational raw material requirements are in line with the tactical plan and highlight concerns to the Materials Planning Leads and Supply Planning Manager.

  • Consolidate Plant raw material requirements using your monitor based on the CCBSA supply agreements concluded by Procurement, provide operational forecasts to Suppliers weekly for the 13 week horizon. This includes the compliance with supplier allocations.

  • Meet with Suppliers weekly/monthly where required, to communicate and discuss the operational forecast, addressing volume, timing, New Product introduction and Promotional supply issues using the agreed meeting format and agenda.

  • Communicate requirements for imported raw materials through to the Procurement team where required and with support from the Imports Team, order and then monitor the shipping schedule, considering ETAs, to ensure that stock levels are maintained at the agreed levels.

  • If suppliers are unable to supply, BCP plans must kick in. Materials Planner to follow BCP options and the guided options to fulfil supply. Reach out to Procurement
    if required to support with contracts etc. Should there be any issues with securing supply as per BCP, escalate to Materials Planning Lead and Supply Planning Manager for support.

  • Communicate clearly and consistently with the New Product Development Technical and Procurement to ensure on time fulfilment of New Product introduction projects. This includes ensuring the raw materials required for new product introductions, discontinuations and promotions are managed according to the agreed timelines and that Run-In and Run-Out of materials is managed to avoid production downtime, stock outs, minimise write-offs, uneconomical production runs and unbudgeted inter-plant movements.

  • Track KPIs weekly (Daily for OOS and Manufacturing Downtime)

  • Track Working Capital monthly

  • Generate and share RMCP monthly (or at least whenever the Tactical Plan changes), and share the monthly volumes with suppliers to enable them to manage capacity and their material procurement (Also for the suppliers to prepare for Monthly S&OP).

  • Communicate short term, 13-week to suppliers weekly.

  • Provide plants direction with regards to where to source materials (during a time of crisis, if there are quality issues, shortages, also when the supplier is OOS).

    Skills, Experience & Education

  • A degree or equivalent tertiary qualification (Preferably in Operations/ Logistics Management or in one or more of the numerical sciences).

  • Advantageous – B-Tech or University Degree.

    Experience:

  • Preferable 2 Years’ experience, within in Beverage or Similar Consumer Goods Industry.

  • Experience in supply planning functions will be an advantage.

  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft products, OP and Microsoft Dynamics.
