Coca-Cola Company Technical Operator Jobs in Kenya; The primary role of the Technical Operator is to operate the process area according to work instructions, execute quality checks (destructive and non-destructive), and carry out autonomous maintenance. The operator focuses on quality control activities within the team.

Responsibilities

Operation and Process Control

  • Operate in the process area according to work instructions and usage standards.

  • Carry out required quality checks as per quality control and analysis work practice.

  • Record waste and review waste trends to identify and resolve problems.

  • Review process performance against targets and complete short interval control documentation.

  • Resolve out-of-control situations and respond rapidly to triggers causing stoppages.

  • Perform housekeeping tasks, apply 5S principles, and follow safe work practices.

  • Identify and correct unsafe work practices.

  • Carry out flavour and size changeovers.

  • Assist fellow team members in task execution.

    Maintenance of Plant and Equipment

  • Conduct deep cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of machines.

  • Perform autonomous maintenance activities according to schedules.

  • Conduct breakdown maintenance tasks.

  • Support process artisans in maintenance during shifts.

    Quality Control and Analysis

  • Perform quality checks and analysis as per procedures.

  • Record results of quality checks in documentation or systems.

  • Calibrate quality control equipment and request assistance when required.

  • Conduct trend analysis on quality data to identify problems and opportunities.

  • Correct identified quality problems using appropriate techniques.

    Communication

  • Communicate effectively in the workplace.

  • Participate in shift meetings, ask questions, and contribute suggestions.

  • Record issues and improvement opportunities in the gap list.

  • Understand team
    goals and participate in review sessions.

  • Use communication media (e.g., shift handover books) to stay informed.

    Problem Solving

  • Apply situational problem-solving techniques (e.g., 5Why, quick fix routines, OPLs).

  • Escalate unresolved problems to team leader or process artisan.

  • Provide information and participate in problem-solving sessions.

  • Verify that resolved problems have been eliminated.

    Continuous Improvement

  • Use run/control charts and trend analysis to identify waste and variation.

  • Apply short stop analysis, Pareto charts, and other tools to simplify activities.

  • Record improvement opportunities in the team gap list and involve specialists when needed.

    Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering required.

    Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years relevant technical experience in FMCG environment.

  • Adequate experience in machine operations.

  • Basic mechanical understanding and ability to conduct routine machine care.

  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and quality standards desirable.

  • Ability to work shifts in a fast-paced production environment.

    Knowledge

  • All aspects of packaging operations and process controls.
