Coalition on Violence Against Women Grants and Compliance Officer Jobs in Kenya; Support effective management of donor grants and sub‑grants, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, organizational policies, and applicable regulations.
Provide grants administration, donor reporting coordination, budget monitoring, partner capacity strengthening, compliance oversight, and grants information management across COVAW’s portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Grants Management and Compliance
Coordinate administration of donor‑funded grants throughout the lifecycle.
Maintain up‑to‑date grants management system.
Track donor reporting deadlines and coordinate timely submissions.
Review grant agreements and advise teams on compliance.
Ensure adherence to donor regulations, policies, and safeguarding standards.
Monitor grant implementation against work plans and budgets.
Sub‑Grant and Partner Management
Coordinate sub‑grant processes for partner organizations.
Support partner due diligence and risk assessments.
Prepare sub‑grant agreements and monitor compliance.
Review partner budgets, reports, and documentation.
Conduct monitoring visits and document findings.
Support partner capacity strengthening in grants and compliance.
Budget Monitoring and Financial Oversight
Work with Finance and Program teams to monitor expenditure.
Ensure alignment with donor‑approved budgets.
Review budget modification requests and support approvals.
Maintain accurate records for audits and reviews.
Donor Reporting and Documentation
Coordinate preparation of donor narrative and financial reports.
Ensure reports meet donor requirements and timelines.
Document achievements, lessons learned, and best practices.
Maintain central repository for grant documents.
Audit, Risk Management and Internal
Controls
Support internal and external audits.
Ensure audit recommendations are implemented.
Conduct compliance reviews and spot checks.
Identify risks and recommend mitigation measures.
Strengthen internal controls and compliance systems.
Resource Mobilization Support
Support proposal development through budget preparation and compliance reviews.
Contribute to donor mapping and funding opportunity tracking.
Support development of grant management tools and SOPs.
Participate in project design discussions.
Safeguarding and Feminist Accountability
Promote compliance with safeguarding, anti‑fraud, and protection policies.
Support partners to integrate safeguarding mechanisms.
Ensure grants management reflects feminist principles, inclusion, and accountability.
