Clinton Health Access Initiative NGO Senior Coordinator, Workforce Development - Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health Job Vacancies in Uganda

The Senior Coordinator, Workforce Development will be responsible for coordinating the design, delivery and monitoring and evaluation of an evidence-based training and mentorship program for managers at district and facility level, and health care workers in CHAI supported districts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a capacity building plan, including milestones and key deliverables, informed by the Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health program work plan and priorities
  • Lead human resource optimization processes, including coordinating the training of partners on the integrated-Human Resource Information
  • System, coordination of routine partner inputs for training and ensuring development and dissemination of training and service coverage overlay reports
  • Refine and/or develop evidence based training packages, protocols, manuals, clinical training materials, job aids, and curricula and other training materials needed for implementation of Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health and secure approval for rollout in target districts by relevant departments of the Ministry of Health
  • Manage the adaptation and maintenance of a competency-based curriculum package for training health facility staff in delivery of Emergency Obstetric and Newborn
  • Lead the design, implementation and assessment of all capacity building related interventions and work with the district
  • Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health coordinators to manage and support capacity building activities at the subnational level, including roll out of capacity building plans for didactic trainings, on-job trainings, clinical and community mentorships

    Qualifications

  • A clinical background (midwife, medical doctor) with experience in Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health with a focus on competency based training on Emergency Obstetric Care Services, Integrated Management of Newborn & Child Hood Illness and Integrated Management of Pregnancy and Childbirth
  • Proven experience of developing competency based training materials and conducting competency based training would be desirable
    Advanced proficiency in computer packages such as Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, STATA and Word
  • Excellent analytical (qualitative and quantitative) and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Practical project/program management experience

    The Senior Coordinator, Clinical & Community, will provide oversight of all technical assistance in community system strengthening interventions. He/She will also be responsible for ensuring the protocols, policies and systems operated within the CHAI supported community and facility level sites move towards the recognized “best practice”.

    Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to Ministry of Health policies and guidelines on all the program component parts with specific focus on quality improvement
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of the status of Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care equipment, mix of health workers, and functionality of village health teams
  • Support program assisted Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care facilities to strengthen routine Maternal and Perinatal Death
  • Surveillance and Response reporting and analysis and work closely with the Senior
  • Coordinator - Workforce
    Development to integrate action and function components of the Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance
  • Response into clinical mentorship activities
  • Work closely with the district coordinators to facilitate review meetings, identify gaps in service provision, define methods to identify and investigate problems and recommend and incorporate corrective actions into a formal plan
  • Facilitate and advise quality improvement teams/committees of program supported districts and health facilities on development and maintenance of quality improvement plans to address gaps in service provision

    Clinton Health Access Initiative NGO Logistics Advisor, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health Job Vacancies in Uganda

    He/She will provide technical support and leadership to strengthen the procurement and supply chain management systems of Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health commodities using evidence based data to reduce stock-outs, lower costs and eliminate wastage.

    Responsibilities

  • Strengthen Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health commodity supply chain in program supported areas in collaboration with National Medical Stores, Ministry of Health, implementing partners and funding agencies
  • Lead assessment of regional, district and facility level supply chain business processes and identify key performance indicators to be used in design and implementation of supply chain performance monitoring in program supported areas
  • Provide technical assistance for assessment of national and/or district-level pharmaceutical management information systems and development of recommendations to optimize business processes
  • Develop technical curricula and provide technical input in training appropriate district health service personnel in implementing supply chain monitoring and management activities
  • Provide technical assistance for quantification and forecasting at national and district levels; monitor and update stock, consumption/distribution and pipeline information
  • Provide technical assistance to Ministry of Health and regional medical equipment workshops for developing systems for equipment inventory management
  • Support review, strengthening and rebalancing of the existing family planning commodity supply chain system and provide technical assistance to Ministry of Health, National Medical Stores and private sector for increased efficiency and integration

    Qualifications

  • Degree in Business, Logistics, Pharmacy or any relevant field
  • At least 5 years’ work experience
  • Experience in managing a Procurement and
  • Supply Chain Management cycle, including rational health commodities selection, forecasting/quantification, quality assurance spanning the Procurement and Supply Chain
  • Management cycle, warehousing/storage, distribution, and LMIS
  • Advanced proficiency in computer packages such as Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, STATA and Word
    Excellent analytical (qualitative and quantitative) and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Practical project/program management experience
