Job Purpose:

  • Act as an inspector of all works on site on behalf of the company and under the directors’ instructions.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out a thorough study of the drawings and specifications. He or she will check for errors and discrepancies in the drawings and specifications and report to the Architect.

  • Inspect all works and advise on actual progress in the relation to the work program.

  • Prepare progress reports as required and agreed with the project manager.

  • Inform the company of work not conforming to contract documents.

  • Inspect and account for materials delivered to the site.

  • Attend all site meetings.

  • Provide a weekly schedule of labor on site.

  • Provide weekly/daily targets for sites against the main contractor’s program of works.

  • Report progress conditions, events, deviations, and information necessary for a proper evaluation of works on site.

  • Provide details of works liable for claims.

  • Carry out a thorough inspection of workmanship – Skilled labor force and knowledgeable and experienced site agents and foremen are key to good and acceptable workmanship.

  • Ensure that Health and Safety regulations are observed on site

  • Perform any other task assigned by the directors.

    Minimum Requirements

  • Degree or diploma
    in Building construction or any related field from an accredited institution.

  • Relevant experience of at least one (1) to three (3) years in a busy construction site of a multistory development as a Clerk of Works or Site Inspector.

  • Possess excellent report writing skills

  • Proficiency in Ms. Office, GANTCHART

  • Membership in a relevant professional institute will be an added advantage.
