CIC Insurance Pharmacy Manager Jobs in Kenya;The role holder will be responsible for setting up, expansion, and successfully running CIC Pharmacy stores in accordance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

Pharmacy Expansion

  • Identify suitable locations for new pharmacy branches.

  • Acquire relevant licenses and approvals for running pharmacies and ensure timely renewals.

  • Participate in recruitment and staffing.

  • Source and procure pharmaceutical products.

    Stakeholder Management / Procurement

  • Engage and contract suppliers (wholesalers and retailers).

  • Maintain cordial relationships with customers, regulators, and suppliers.

    Medication Dispensing Guidelines

  • Provide leadership and guidance by establishing policies on drug dispensing, accuracy, and appropriateness.

  • Ensure dispensing of medications in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.

    Staff Management & Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and supervise pharmacists, technicians, and support staff.

  • Schedule staff and ensure adequate coverage in each branch.

  • Conduct performance appraisals and mentorship.

  • Enforce professional conduct and workplace discipline.

    Operations Management

  • Ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations across all branches.

  • Standardize procedures (dispensing, stock handling, customer service).

  • Monitor workflow efficiency and resolve operational issues.

  • Ensure consistent service quality in all branches.

    Inventory Management

  • Monitor and manage pharmaceutical inventory to prevent shortages and excess stock.

  • Order and restock medications as needed.

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure proper storage and handling of medications.

  • Develop annual departmental budgets and ensure efficient resource utilization.

  • Manage debtors effectively.

    Health and Wellness Promotion

  • Coordinate wellness initiatives through CIC wellness program and CDM program with timely drug delivery.

    Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals

  • Collaborate with service providers to optimize patient care.

  • Communicate effectively with prescribers to clarify and discuss medication‑related issues.

  • Review and provide technical support on pharmacy prescriptions and claims.

    Customer Service

  • Ensure a positive and welcoming environment for customers across all branches.

  • Address customer inquiries and concerns professionally and empathetically.

  • Resolve issues related to medication availability, insurance, and prescription refills.

    Regulatory & Compliance Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, PPB regulations,
    and ethical standards.

  • Maintain valid licenses for all branches and staff.

  • Ensure proper documentation and record‑keeping.

  • Handle inspections and audits.

    Business Development & Growth

  • Identify opportunities for expansion or service improvement.

  • Implement marketing and promotional strategies.

  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity.

  • Improve sales through ethical and patient‑centered practices.

    Reporting & Communication

  • Communicate policies and updates to branch managers.

  • Coordinate meetings and performance reviews.

    Continuing Education

  • Stay informed about new drugs, treatments, and healthcare trends.

  • Participate in continuing education programs to maintain and enhance professional competence.

    Audit, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Strictly adhere to regulations, statutes, standards, practices, and internal processes.

  • Contribute to achieving “good” ratings in internal and external audits.

  • Address and escalate risk management requirements through defined channels.

    Generic Duties

  • Participate in meetings and committees.

  • Perform any other duties as allocated.

    Qualifications / Work Experience

  • Academic Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an institution recognized by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.

  • Professional Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar role.

  • Professional Registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board with a valid practising license.

  • Professional Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.

  • Professional Strong relationship management skills.

  • Professional Ability to run a chain of pharmacy stores.

  • Professional Strategic thinker with strong management skills.
