Ciala Hospital Laboratory Technologists Jobs in Kenya; The Pharmaceutical Technologist will be responsible for accurate dispensing of medications, maintaining proper inventory control, supporting safe medication practices, and collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize patient care.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.

  • Valid practicing license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ relevant working experience.

  • Prior experience working in a busy private Level 4 hospital is required.

  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical dispensing procedures, stock management, and medication safety standards.

  • Ability to accurately interpret prescriptions and dispense medications appropriately.

  • Knowledge of insurance processes, pharmaceutical billing, and inventory control systems will be an added advantage.

  • Experience using hospital management systems and pharmacy software will be an added advantage.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately dispense medications and medical supplies in accordance with prescriptions and established pharmaceutical guidelines.

  • Support safe medication management practices and promote rational drug use within the hospital.

  • Maintain proper inventory control, stock monitoring, and timely reporting of expiries and low‑stock items.

  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and documentation of pharmaceutical products in compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Participate in procurement planning, stock reconciliation, and pharmacy audits.

  • Work collaboratively with clinicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.

  • Support insurance and billing processes related to pharmaceutical services where required.

  • Maintain accurate dispensing records and ensure confidentiality of patient information.

  • Adhere strictly to infection prevention, quality assurance, and patient safety protocols.

  • Participate in departmental meetings, CMEs, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
