CHS Kenya Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Jobs

CHS is currently sourcing for a high calibre, self-motivated and dynamic individual to fill the position of Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (Data Analyst) – 11/CHS/041/2018 in Siaya.



The Senior M&E Officer – Data Analyst will be responsible for performing advanced data analysis to inform programmatic actions and decisions for the SHINDA project. The incumbent will report to the Deputy Program Director – Strategic Information and Systems and will work closely with other advisors in the project.


Key responsibilities


  • Perform in-depth and advance statistical analysis on program data and provide appropriate interpretation for programmatic decisions
  • Support the Senior Technical Team and program staff in the analysis of program data for abstract writing and other publications
    Work with project teams to create data analysis plans including writing or editing SOPs and guidelines for data analysis
  • Prepare regular high-quality presentations of summarised program data for SHINDA Project staff and other stakeholders
  • Support development and implementation of SHINDA Project M&E plans, ensuring that the data collection, collation and analysis are clearly spelt out and understood by all stakeholders
  • Regular updates on donor reporting indicators and help program technical team in definitions, data collection and data analysis
  • Contribute to the development of inferential statistical analysis of SHINDA
  • Project data for publications and presentation to various conference and audiences and as the need arises
  • Contribute to program evaluation, in particular, manage the collection of data at baseline and subsequent stages of program evaluation
  • Assist all relevant stakeholders to make use of data to aid informed decision-making by availing datasets and analyses
  • Provide relevant estimates on programmatic indicators through conducting appropriate literature reviews and reference materials
  • Provide technical assistance, training and guidance to both program team and MOH staff in data management and analysis


    Qualification and Skills Required


  • Advanced Statistics Degree (minimum Masters) in Bio-Statistics, Statistics, Mathematics or Epidemiology
  • At least five (5) years of experience in analysis of public health data preferably HIV/AIDS, TB, Maternal and Reproductive Health data
  • Strong data analysis skills including knowledge of statistical software such as SPSS, SAS or STATA etc.
  • Familiarity with data visualisation softwares such as Tableau and Power BI
  • Ability to model and interpret data
  • Good experience in application and use of DHIS2, EMR and DATIM reporting system
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Advanced skills in graphic presentation of data
