Christian Health Association of Kenya Head Chef Jobs; Responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations, creating and executing high-quality menus, maintaining a positive, motivated and productive work environment. Ensures the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and safety, while managing kitchen staff and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. Responsible for effective food inventory management and achievement of the set food cost margins.

Responsibilities

Menu Creation and Development – Design, plan and execute creative and innovative menu options guided by facility cost margin guidelines and client preferences.

Kitchen Operations Management – Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service. Monitor food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation to maintain consistency and quality.

Staff Management and Training – Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff. Manage schedules, off days, and leave planning. Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

Inventory and Cost Control – Manage food and kitchen supply inventory, ensuring proper storage, rotation, and waste reduction. Control food costs through efficient ordering, portion control, and minimizing waste.

Health and Safety Compliance – Enforce strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards. Ensure compliance with

local authority food safety guidelines.

Guest Experience – Ensure food presentation and quality exceed guest expectations. Address guest feedback promptly.

Collaboration – Work closely with the service team to enhance guest experience. Participate in budgeting and strategy implementation to meet financial goals. Partner with sales and marketing to create special events and promotions.

Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Diploma in Culinary Skills.

At least 5 years’ experience in a busy commercial kitchen.

Strong organizational, customer service, creativity, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
