About the role

The role of the Programme Development and Funding Manager is to drive the development of projects attractive to institutional and other donors, raising and managing restricted income and promoting positive engagement with donors to achieve transformational growth by increased impact, scale and leverage. The role will provide management support to the South Sudan Programme with a specific focus on programme development for institutional donors.

This includes building relationships with existing, new and non-traditional donors and partners, and contributing in developing competitive consortium or effective ways of working for obtaining and delivering institutional supported programmes.

It may also include management support during the programme design and programme development phase. The post will be responsible for
leading programme funding in South Sudan and also providing support to other countries including Ethiopia and Kenya.

About you

  • To carry out this role, you will need substantial expertise in working with institutional donors, such as DFID, the European Union, USAID, and UN funding bodies. This should include involvement in both development of funding proposals and the management and delivery of donor funded contracts.

  • You will have a university degree or equivalent in business, economics, international relations, development, environmental management, agronomy, or a relevant subject. You will also have outstanding communication and networking skills for engagement, relationship building and facilitation, including consortium development.

  • You should be familiar with project cycle management and monitoring, evaluation and learning methodologies.
