Christian Aid Programme and Partnerships Lead Jobs in Nigeria; Reporting to the Global Head of Programme Policy and Practice, the Programme & Partnerships Lead provides strategic oversight and impact success of signature programmes. The role ensures coherence across Multi‑Country Clusters (MCCs), contributes to the organisation’s impact framework, and strengthens programme, partnership, and MEAL methodologies with a focus on decolonised and locally‑led approaches.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Leadership

  • Inspire and motivate the Programme Policy and Practice division to drive meaningful impact.

  • Support design of signature programmes, building connections across MCCs and developing MEAL frameworks.

  • Guide the Global MEAL Advisor and commission evaluations with a focus on decolonial approaches.

  • Identify opportunities for further development of signature programmes.

  • Ensure financial processes and guardrails support strategic allocation of resources.

  • Foster strong cross‑sector and internal relationships to build consensus.

    Team Oversight
  • Provide leadership to MEAL Advisor, Programme Impact & Portfolio Management Advisor, and Partnership & Civil Society/Faith Specialist.

  • Support development of Christian Aid’s faith‑based partnerships.

  • Spearhead localisation and CSO approaches as part of organisational ethos.

    About You

    Essential
  • Degree or equivalent in Business, Economics, International Development, or related discipline.

  • Significant senior management / leadership experience.

  • Experience in problem‑solving to unblock programme delivery.

  • Experience developing innovative multi‑country programmes.

  • Experience preparing budget recommendations for multi‑country programmes.

  • Experience in team design and recruitment.

  • Substantial experience in partnership management.

  • Substantial experience in project design, monitoring, and evaluation tools.

  • Openness to decolonised approaches in project design and evaluation.

  • Understanding of financial
    controls and due‑diligence processes.

  • Highly numerate with strong communication skills (written and verbal).

    Desirable
  • Understanding of operating with a total economy approach.

  • Strong relationship‑building, facilitation, and senior stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Ability to devise and implement strategies.

  • Highly developed negotiation skills.
