Christian Aid Business Development Manager - West and Central Africa region Jobs in Nigeria;We are seeking a Business Development Manager for the West and Central Africa region to secure new funding aligned to Christian Aid’s strategy and thematic priorities. Reporting to the Business Development Lead for Multi‑Country Clusters (MCC), the role will expand institutional funding portfolios, strengthen donor partnerships, and grow program pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

Funding & Donor Engagement

  • Meet institutional income targets at MCC level, contributing to divisional goals.

  • Develop donor engagement strategies and grow funding pipelines.

  • Identify new opportunities and establish partnerships to expand program portfolios.

  • Build and cultivate strategic partnerships with government, multilateral agencies, and foundations.

    Proposal Development

  • Develop high‑quality funding proposals in coordination with Impact department, partners, and donors.

  • Ensure proposals align with thematic priorities, signature programmes, and donor requirements.

    Partnerships & Networking

  • Build wide networks of contacts and funding relationships across the MCC region.

  • Collaborate with MCC Programme Portfolio and Partnership teams.

  • Align priorities with Christian Aid Ireland.

    Compliance & Integration

  • Work closely with MCC Contracts and Portfolio Manager to ensure seamless integration with delivery teams.

  • Supervise onboarding of new programs.

  • Maintain compliance and accountability, reviewing reporting for quality assurance.

    About You

    Essential

  • Proven track record securing multi‑million‑pound grants for NGOs.

  • Substantial experience cultivating donor partnerships at global, regional, and country levels.

  • Proven success developing multi‑million‑pound budgets.

  • Advanced knowledge of donor funding landscape and trends.

  • Expertise in leading multi‑discipline bid teams for grants and commercial agreements.

  • Experience in project design, M&E tools, and grant budgets.

  • Background in humanitarian
    programming and working with humanitarian donors.

  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

    Desirable

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education.

  • Donor certifications and compliance training.

  • Knowledge of donor programming modalities, compliance frameworks, and negotiation processes.

  • Experience negotiating grant and contract agreements.

  • Demonstrable management experience, including remote management and coaching.

  • Knowledge of emerging donors and financing models regionally and globally.
