Chipper Cash Head of Human Resource Jobs in Kenya
The HHR is our gravitas for talent, and will maintain and enhance the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
Responsibilities
Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions relevant to Chipper’s success
Maintain organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; advice management on candidate selection; conduct and analyze exit interviews; recommend changes
Prepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs
Maintain a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; schedule and conduct job evaluations; prepare pay budgets; monitor and schedule individual pay actions; recommend, plan, and implement pay structure revisions
Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training management to coach and discipline employees; schedule management conferences with employees; hear and resolve employee grievances; counsel employees and supervisors
Maintain employee benefits programs and inform employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommend benefit programs to management; direct the processing of benefit claims; obtain and evaluate benefit contract bids; award benefit contracts; design and conduct educational programs on benefit programs
Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conduct investigations; maintain records; represent the organization at hearings
Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures
Maintain historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keep past and current records
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; review professional publications; establish personal networks; participate in professional societies
Complete human resource operational requirements by scheduling and
assigning employees; follow up on work results
Maintain human resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
Maintain human resource staff job results by counselling and disciplining employees; plan, monitor, and appraise job results
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
Requirements
HR Functional expertise: 5+ years of relevant HR experience; including a familiarity with HR policies, procedures, processes, and compliance
Leadership: Experience in leading a team, coaching, mentoring and developing employees
Experience managing a partially remote team a plus
Willingness to be hands-on and comfortable working alongside the team you’re leading
Curious and analytical mind-set: Ability to centre your priorities and decision making around metrics
Broad Kenya/ Africa expertise: Understanding of various employment laws in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda etc., and their impact on company’s HR practices and policies
Project management: Experience in managing HR projects, and in organizing and prioritizing new projects, and supporting the business and people teams through significant process changes
Technical experience: Experience with Workday, Taleo etc. or other pertinent HR system a must
