ChildFund International Program, Sponsor Relations & Communications Intern Jobs in Kenya; The Program, Sponsor Relations & Communications Intern plays an important role in supporting ChildFund’s sponsorship‑related activities like correspondences and communications that strengthen relationships between enrolled/sponsored children, their families, and communities with their sponsors. The intern will also support documentation and showcasing of program activities through photography, videography, storytelling, and community communications, thereby enhancing visibility of program achievements and impact.
Purpose and Objectives
Support sponsorship, program implementation, and communication activities within NMP.
Strengthen relationships between sponsored children, families, communities, and sponsors through effective correspondence and engagement.
Document program activities and showcase impact through photography, videography, storytelling, and reports.
Key Responsibilities
Sponsor Relations Support
Work with Program and Sponsorship Officers to ensure children and families are enrolled using eligibility criteria and household registration is maintained in CAMEL system.
Support maintenance of accurate sponsorship records in compliance with ChildFund standards.
Coordinate sponsor‑related activities and follow up on deliverables, ensuring quality and timeliness of correspondence (letters, updates, communications).
Program Implementation Support
Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing program activities across project sites.
Participate in field visits, beneficiary registration, activity monitoring, and documentation.
Support preparation of activity reports, meeting minutes, and presentations.
Communications and Documentation
Document program activities through photography, videography, interviews, and success stories.
Develop content for reports, social media, and communication materials.
Organize and archive program data, photos, videos, and communication assets.
Conduct field visits to capture high‑quality photos and video footage across thematic areas (Health & Nutrition,
Education, Child Protection, Livelihoods).
Maintain a well‑captioned digital media library of NMP activities.
Coordinate with Country Office communications team for timely submission of NMP content to official platforms.
Support setup and management of NMP WhatsApp Channel, including publishing updates and growing membership.
Draft human‑interest stories, activity write‑ups, and photo narratives for WhatsApp Channel and Country Office communications.
Ensure strict adherence to Child Safeguarding Policy, including informed consent and child dignity in imagery.
Other Duties
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor in support of program, sponsor relations, and communication objectives.
Preferred Competences/Qualification
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree (completed or ongoing) in Social Sciences, Community Development, Development Studies, Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, or related field.
Demonstrated interest or experience in photography/videography with ability to capture clear, story‑driven images and video clips.
Familiarity with basic photo/video editing tools (CapCut, Canva, or similar).
Active user of WhatsApp with ability to manage a WhatsApp Channel.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general computer literacy.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Team‑working and collaboration skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong report writing, communication, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Understanding of ethical communication practices, informed consent, child dignity in imagery, and data protection principles.
