Summary

  • Responsible for coordination of Communication activities required to promote ChildFund, its branding, documentation and sharing of best practices and also in response to public and media inquiries as required.

    Duties

  • Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Child Safeguarding Policy.

  • Develop and update construction management guideline that includes

  • Works under the guidance and supervision of Communication Specialist in producing and documenting communication issues

  • Implements communication and documentation strategy and operational procedures consistent with the strategic direction of Child Fund.
    Compiles and publishes the NO annual and quarterly reports, posts on the hub , newsletters, flyers, calendars and other promotional materials as required both for the general public, internal users and to maintain relationship with donor.

  • Does frequent filed travels in order to record and document

  • provides training and creates sensitization sessions on ChildFund and Donors’ branding policy internalization by both ChildFund and implementing partners. Implements strategies to promote ChildFund branding.

  • Supports the Communication Specialist on the development guidance on Public Relations including organizing press briefings, handling media through maintaining constructive relationships and providing accurate and timely responses to queries in collaboration
    with the National Director

  • Facilitates effective distribution of organization wide information sharing, communications on new developments and relevant events through various Medias including website, e-mails, newsletters, and bulletin boards and staff gatherings.

  • Coordinates and organizes the Country Office events including project launches, conferences workshops, special program events and donors visits.

  • Provides technical support to field staff for identifying, documenting and communicating best practices and lessons learned stories including photography for the purpose of organizational learning and promotional materials

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications and Experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience of any sort in public relations, communications, journalism, Information Management and documentation
    Relevant experience in NGO environment is an asset for the position Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Committed to child protection and participation

  • Strong computer skills; Word Processing and power point presentation

  • Organized and demonstrates concern for accuracy and detail

  • Demonstrated Integrity: achieved a high level of trust in relationships

  • Able to value different points-of-view; remains open-minded to change

  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity: understands and respects the practices, customs, values, and norms of individuals and communities.

    Education

  • BA degree in Journalism, Literature, English or equivalent in related discipline
