    CHAI Zambia’s HIV Prevention Program:

    The CHAI HIV Prevention program aims to support the Government of the Republic of Zambia through the Ministry of Health to achieve the following two primary outcomes:

    • Locally owned, accountable, integrated, and sustainable combination HIV prevention response

    • Robust and actionable documentation and dissemination of approaches to support a resilient, adaptable combination HIV prevention program

  • CHAI will strive to strengthen the combination HIV prevention response in Zambia by advancing integrated prevention programming, leveraging the sustainable epidemiological and programmatic transition of VMMC and by providing lessons to improve the resilience of HIV prevention programs while informing public health program integration and sustainability.
  • This will be done through the provision of technical assistance to the MOH in the development of strategic documents, tools and analysis to support critical management systems and to galvanize sector-wide partner coordination.

  • In order to achieve the outlined objectives, CHAI is seeking a Senior Associate, HIV Prevention to support all program management and technical aspects of the HIV prevention grant.

  • S/he will work with government officials, implementing partners and other stakeholders relevant to the objectives of the HIV prevention program. The incumbent will report to the Senior Program Manager, HIV Prevention.

    Responsibilities

  • Lead the process
    of documentation and dissemination of program outcomes
    Support the execution of all components of the program, ensuring that key deliverables are met on time including donor communication and reporting
    Maintain close partnership and collaboration with key stakeholders in government, implementing partners and other relevant stakeholders

  • Support MOH and cooperating partners to develop innovative ways for mainstreaming program sustainability through integration of VMMC with other HIV prevention programs

  • Support the preparation and monitoring of the program budget and other finance related activities

  • Support the Senior Program Manager to supervise program staff to ensure that all work plan deliverables are completed on time, well documented and are of high quality

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree Advanced Degree will be an added advantage

  • Six (6) years relevant work experience.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environment

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously whilst mentoring a team to perform successfully

  • Strong documentation and dissemination skills

  • Strong program management experience, including developing and executing budgets

  • Strong leadership, communication (both written and oral), and organization skills and a proactive self-manager

  • Exceptional diplomatic and interpersonal skills, and ability to build strong professional relationships with a range of stakeholders in a challenging, multi-cultural environment

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team in conceiving, planning and executing programs or projects with documented results

  • Strong analytical (quantitative and qualitative), problem solving, and communication (written and oral) skills

  • High levels of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet applications
