CESVI Driver Jobs in Ethiopia



Responsibilities

  • Drive CESVI Ethiopia vehicles to give service to CESVI staff as required and scheduled by the Country Logistics and Supply Chain Coordinator.

  • Carry out basic security checks on vehicles before starting and at the end of the day (battery, water, fuel, oil levels, radiator water, tire pressure/condition, etc.).

  • Perform weekly vehicle technical checklist (electrical system, lubrication, cooling, power train, brake and steering, suspension, etc.).

  • Ensure vehicle meets maintenance schedule and report faults immediately to the Country Logistics and Supply Chain Coordinator.

  • Maintain neat and accurate records of all journeys in the vehicle log book.

  • Report immediately any damage or accident to the supervisor in Addis Ababa, following correct procedures.

  • Keep vehicle clean and tidy at all times.

  • Ensure vehicle is used only for CESVI approved purposes.

  • Respect CESVI driver rules and conduct, as well as traffic regulations.

  • Collect, store, transport, and deliver goods safely.

  • Ensure all passengers wear safety belts before driving.

  • Never answer mobile phone while driving; adopt careful and passive driving style suited to local conditions.

  • Dress and behave respectably at all times.

  • Manage time properly, report promptly to work, and be adequately rested before long journeys.

  • Wear prescription glasses when driving if required.

  • Submit weekly vehicle check form to the Country Logistics and Supply Chain Coordinator.

  • Be familiar with tools, equipment, vehicle manual, automatic transmission, and electrical type vehicles.

  • Know local area and planned journey routes, including
    security issues.

  • Undertake other duties as requested by supervisor.

  • Ability to travel to field offices when needed.

    Requirements

    Essential Requirements

  • Diploma in Auto Mechanics and knowledge of basic motor vehicle mechanics.

  • Certificate in Basic Computer.

  • Good command of English language at least level III (listening, speaking, reading, writing).

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Driver, preferably in INGO environment.

  • Minimum of Grade Three valid driving license.

    Other Skills & Competencies

  • Must have a clean and valid driving license.

  • Familiar with city traffic, shortcuts, one‑way streets, etc.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong knowledge and application of country’s and organization’s Driving, Road Transport, and Traffic regulations.

  • Team‑oriented and flexible; keen to take initiative where appropriate.

  • Quick in understanding, keen in taking instructions, and able to work with minimum supervision.

  • Willing to travel to remote areas and field offices; ability to work flexibly including weekends.

  • Willingness to travel and work in rural locations and live in basic conditions.

  • Ready and able to perform other duties as delegated by supervisor.
