Centre for Health Solutions PMTCT Officer Jobs in Siaya

CHS is currently sourcing for a high calibre, self-motivated and dynamic individual to fill the position of PMTCT Officer – 05/CHS/PMTCT/2018 in Siaya.



Reporting to the Senior Program Officer (SPO) and working closely with the PMTCT Technical Advisor, this role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day planning and implementation of PMTCT activities within CHS-supported facilities in collaboration with the Ministry of Health.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing day-to-day technical support and supervision of the PMTCT program in CHS-supported facilities as per the national PMTCT guidelines
  • Assisting with training of health care workers using the national PMTCT curriculum and participating in the organization of facility-level CMEs and capacity building activities
  • Strengthening referrals and linkages between PMTCT activities and the CCC
  • Overseeing EID care and follow-up of HEI and ensuring Mother and HEI are followed up together longitudinally
  • Ensuring weekly update of EID website
  • Ensuring DNA PCR Audit for any HEI Positive within the month and sharing the data promptly with the Monitoring and Evaluations team
  • Integrating HIV services within FP/RH and child welfare services; administer and track pregnancy intention among women living with HIV and refer for appropriate FP/RH services
  • Implementing continuous quality improvement projects at the site level to improve quality of services in supported sites
  • Participating in facility-level MDTs and helping in decision making on patients
  • Supervising nurse counsellors providing PMTCT services at the CHS-supported sites
  • Participating in weekly program TWGs and actively preparing cases for discussions


    Qualifications and Requirements

    For appointment to the post of HTS Counsellor, a
    candidate must;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or an equivalent
  • Trainer of Trainers in PMTCT and Early Infant Diagnosis
  • More than five (5) years’ experience in the implementation of PMTCT activities
  • Experience in training and mentorship of health care workers on PMTCT


    Successful candidates will be supervised by their respective hospital/facility health management team (HMT) from the Ministry of Health in conjunction with the CHS Program team.
