Center for International Forestry Research Officer, Training and Development - AWARD Jobs in Kenya



Duties & Responsibilities

Training Coordination

  • Plan, schedule and execute courses per AWARD workplan.

  • Prepare course materials to AWARD standards.

  • Communicate with participants on schedules, requirements and deadlines.

  • Administer assessments, monitor progress and generate reports.

  • Provide support during delivery (tools, equipment, logistics).

  • Provide online technical support during virtual events.

  • Maintain accurate training records and reports.

    Curriculum Design & Content Development

  • Develop learning modules integrating synchronous and asynchronous components.

  • Incorporate inclusive and accessible practices.

  • Create facilitator/learner guides, workbooks and session plans.

  • Optimize content for LMS delivery.

  • Review and update curricula for relevance and quality.

  • Recommend digital learning tools to enhance engagement.

    Trainers & Resource Persons Management

  • Support recruitment and onboarding of trainers.

  • Maintain trainers’ database and expertise matrix.

  • Allocate trainers to activities per workplan.

  • Prepare training budgets and contracts.

  • Track contract timelines, renewals and compliance.

  • Maintain trainer payment records and support Finance.

  • Provide logistical support and conduct post‑session debriefs.

    Knowledge Management

  • Ensure learning resources are filed and accessible.

  • Maintain repositories of training materials.

  • Collect and categorize training reports and feedback.

  • Update virtual learning platforms and tools.

  • Analyze portal usage and identify improvement areas.

    Pre‑Course & Post‑Training Follow‑Up

  • Customize and communicate pre‑course activities.

  • Administer assessments and generate reports.

  • Follow up on post‑training requirements and outputs.

  • Conduct curriculum reviews based on
    feedback and analytics.

    Liaison with Stakeholders

  • Maintain relationships with partner institutions and stakeholders.

  • Facilitate communication between partners, participants and AWARD.

  • Schedule and document meetings with stakeholders.

  • Maintain stakeholder contact database.

  • Prepare alumni/stakeholder congratulatory messages.

  • Follow up on disputes or complaints.

    Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Education, Training & Development or related field.

  • At least 5 years’ progressive experience in capacity development/training programs.

  • Professional certification in virtual facilitation/e‑learning instructional design.

  • Experience with LMS administration and blended learning.

  • Technical support experience during live online events.

  • Working knowledge of French an added advantage.

  • Ability to manage and lead hybrid teams.

  • Expertise in gender‑responsive approaches in agrifood systems an added advantage.
