Centenary Bank loans officer Jobs in Uganda


Reports to: Credit Administrator

Role: The loans officer is responsible for mobilizing, appraising, disbursement and recovery of loans within their portfolio in line with the credit policies, procedures and set targets.
Grade: 6A

Responsibilities

Building Client Relationships

  • Mobilizing and sensitizing customers about Bank products including deposit mobilization in line with set targets
    Enrol new clients for a financial card

    Appraisal and Monitoring

  • Conducting loan appraisal exercises in line with lending policy of the bank
  • Preparing documentation and presenting loan project proposals to the loan committee for decision-making and giving feedback to applicants in line with the lending policy and procedures of the Bank
  • Preparing approved loans for disbursements according to the terms and conditions spelt out in the lending policies/procedures
  • Evaluating loan performance in line with disbursement terms and conditions
  • Carryout snap checks on teller activities including ATMs in line with the Operations Manual

    Loan Recovery

  • Initiating recovery actions for loans in default including written off loans in line with loan policy guidelines and procedures.

    Qualifications

  • An honors’ University degree in; Micro Finance, Marketing, Statistics, Education, Computer Engineering. Finance, Economics, Accounting, and BBA
  • Two (2) years or more experience in microfinance lending operations in a busy environment/bank.
  • Superior Communication skills
  • Credit analysis skills
  • Report writing skills
  • Creativity with continuous improvement to increase on speed for loan processing in order to meet customer expectations, the changing environment and competition.
  • Thirty (30 )years and below
  • Ability/willingness to ride a motorcycle for effective field loan appraisal and recovery purposes.
  • Willingness to serve at any rural branch or operational unit wherever and when posted.
  • High potential to effectively appraise/recover loans to Bank’s lending expectation.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to relate well with the rural folk.
  • Should be flexible, courteous and business enterprising.
  • Energetic and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Forward looking, innovative with sound awareness in lending business issues

    Centenary Bank Supervisor Cente-mobile loans Jobs in Uganda

    Reports to: Manager Micro Credit

    Role: The Supervisor Cente-mobile loans is responsible for supporting and implementing strategies to grow the Bank’s Cente-mobile loans’ credit portfolio, in line with the Bank’s business plan and policies.
    Grade: 4 B

    Responsibilities

    Monitoring

  • Carry out monitoring of successful cente-mobile transactions
  • Implement of mechanisms to support the recovery of customer cente-mobile loan payments
  • Monitor the Cente-mobile loan portfolio quality for the bank and follow up recovery of delinquent loans according to the targets given and in line with credit policy and regulatory framework.
  • Regularly monitor and review Cente-mobile loans deductions to ensure
    timely and work closely with Business Technology for purposes of maintaining a quality portfolio.
  • Evaluate Cente-mobile loan portfolio quality through preparation of a trend analysis report on a monthly basis and advise on corrective actions

    Customer Management

  • Analyse customer complaints from call centre and provide timely feedback.

    Reconciliation

  • Work with other stakeholders to ensure that SLA’s are met
  • Reconcile BR (Banker’s Rim) & CBS (Core banking system) to ensure accuracy
  • Engage with Finance and Business Technology to reverse or post any transactions in the Global suspense account
  • Conduct aging and provisions to avoid income leakages.

    Reporting

  • Generate monthly, quarterly and weekly reports on the Cente-mobile loan uptake trends
  • Generate periodic reports on Cente-mobile loan portfolio performance and related corrective initiatives undertaken.

    Qualifications

  • First degree in any business related field.
    Three years’ experience in credit operations in a financial institution.
  • Very strong knowledge in computer especially EXCEL and data management
  • Very good skills in credit recovery with average NPR of not more than 3% for the last 3 years
  • Negotiation and persuasion
  • Knowledge of banking practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Good understanding of key business processes and related risks and controls
  • Knowledge of fraud risks in the baking environment.
  • Good Financial analytical skills
  • Good communication and Interpersonal skills
  • High degree of integrity and confidentiality.
