About the Role

  • CEFA is looking for a highly motivated and capable professional with previous experience in agriculture/rural development to fill the post of Project Coordinator, to lead and manage the field operations in order to address the identified needs of the target beneficiaries within the area of intervention and maximise impact.

    Project Coordination

  • Coordinate activities of the project closely with CEFA Project Manager and the team of CEFA.

  • Collaborate to prepare project work plans.

  • Ensure proper identification of target beneficiaries.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of trainings.
  • Support in developing training material.

  • Participate in regular coordination meeting with CEFA and different projects partners

  • Discuss on project results and beneficiary satisfaction during regular review meetings with CEFA and project partners.

  • Develop and nurture productive relationship with local authorities.

    Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Follow-up project implementation

  • Facilitate the implementation of monitoring, evaluation and learning systems to ensure evidence-based project management and promotion of best practices.

  • Accompany members of staff on site to evaluate training courses in order to facilitate progress monitoring.

  • Ensure that periodic M&E of projects are done, and observations are documented and disseminated to concerned project partners.

  • Participate in partners project supervision and field visits.

    Human Resources

  • Coordinate and direct the work of the project staff.

  • Train staff and identify training needs

  • Represent CEFA at Finance and Economy Office, Cooperatives Agency, etc. at regional and woreda levels, on behalf of the Project manager if required.

  • Participate in coordination meetings at field level.

  • Ensure smooth and fruitful communication with Project partners and all relevant actors, and ensure that support and assistance is available to partners in line with needs and requests.

    Reporting and communication

  • Provide regular project status updates and reports to CEFA
    Project Manager. Ensure good internal and external communication practices are in place.

  • Support project staff in collecting information and analytical reports in line with donor requirements

  • Ensure timely production and submission of quality reports to local authorities at field level, in coordination with the Project manager.

    Job Requirements

    Education and Experience

    MSc in Agriculture Science or related field;

  • A minimum of 5 years of related work experience;

  • Previous experiences in rural development and related fields and experience in managing operations and programs with NGOs/CSOs and donors will be considered an asset.

    Required Competence

  • Fluent in English and Amharic. Fluent in Wolaytigna is an asset;

  • Highly motivated and able to work independently, taking initiative, setting priorities. Organizational and multi-tasking skills; Capacity to organize work and supervise a team, willingness to communicate with people, good team spirit. Keeping deadlines and reporting to duty on time.

  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Tools;

  • Keep all organization’s personnel, partners and stakeholders information confidential.

  • The job needs either field office work, field visit, and travel.

  • Apolitical stance during implementing project.
