Job Summary

  • The primary responsibility of the Junior Communication Officer is to provide technical support and input to the communication, IT and documentation of the CDT-Africa to institutionalize information in a more effective, responsive and coordinated approach.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collect, compile, produce and disseminate case studies and success stories of programs and projects of the center;

  • Assist on the design, editorial content and maintenance of the CDT-Africa website and its social media (Facebook and twitter) to ensure that contents are regularly updated along with successive growth of the Center

  • Prepare quarterly newsletter of CDT-Africa
    Maintain coherence of all program and project communications and follow up on the communication network within the center;

  • Take lead in dissemination of communication materials to relevant stakeholders;

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor

    Requirements

  • Minimum of BA Degree in Communication, Public Relation, Journalism, or related field;

  • Minimum of one year work experience in similar positions;

  • Experience working on social media, online content management systems and publications;

  • High-level written and verbal communication in English and Amharic. Additional local language is a plus;

  • Experience working in related positions in health programs is a plus.

  • Knowledge of Photography and photo editing software.

  • Ground knowledge of graphic design concepts.

  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe creative suits especially InDesign, Premier Pro, Photoshop and Illustrator.
