CDL Human Resource Transport Manager Jobs in Kenya;Lead and manage the company’s transport operations by ensuring efficient planning, allocation, execution, and monitoring of transport activities. Optimize fleet utilization, manage transporter relationships, ensure regulatory compliance, control transport costs, and deliver exceptional customer service in line with operational and commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Transport Operations Management
Lead planning, coordination, and execution of transport operations to ensure timely cargo movement.
Develop schedules, allocate resources, and monitor execution for efficiency.
Ensure daily activities meet customer requirements and operational priorities.
Monitor performance and implement corrective actions to resolve delays.
Transport Planning & Fleet Optimization
Optimize truck allocation, route planning, and transporter utilization.
Monitor transporter performance, equipment availability, and capacity planning.
Plan loading schedules, departures, and delivery timelines effectively.
Transporter & Vendor Management
Develop and maintain strategic relationships with transport service providers.
Evaluate transporter performance against service levels and contracts.
Support onboarding, qualification, and performance improvement initiatives.
Participate in rate negotiations to improve cost competitiveness.
Customs & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with customs documentation and statutory requirements (T1s, Exit Notes, T812, transit regulations).
Monitor regulatory changes and implement operational adjustments.
Ensure documentation accuracy and timely processing.
Customer Service & Coordination
Coordinate with Commercial, Customer Service, Customs, and Warehouse teams for seamless execution.
Resolve customer queries and operational issues promptly.
Maintain proactive communication with customers on shipment status.
Performance Reporting & Cost Management
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly transport performance reports.
Monitor costs, buying rates, and KPIs to identify improvement opportunities.
Analyse trends and recommend initiatives to improve efficiency and profitability.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
Lead, coach, and develop the transport team to achieve excellence.
Conduct performance reviews and align objectives with departmental goals.
Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and compliance.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational discipline.
Qualifications / Work Experience
Academic Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Professional Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience in transport or logistics operations, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory or management role.
Professional Strong understanding of clearing & forwarding, customs procedures, and regional transit operations.
Professional Working knowledge of KRA, KPA, URA, and regional customs systems.
Professional ERP and transport management system experience (advantage).
