CDL Human Resource HR Business Partner Jobs in Kenya; As an HRBP Apprentice, you will be embedded directly within business operations. You will work alongside senior HR leaders to align talent strategies with business goals, analyze workforce data, manage employee relations, and drive organizational performance. Key Role Information

  • Position Level: Entry‑to‑Mid (Apprenticeship Pathway).

  • Reporting To: Senior HR Business Partner / Head of HR.

  • Duration: 6 to 12 months.

  • Target Start Date: Immediate.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Business Partnering & Advisory

  • Shadow Senior HRBPs in departmental meetings to understand commercial objectives and translate them into talent solutions.

  • Assist in diagnosing team performance gaps and proposing structural or training interventions.

  • Support line managers in interpreting HR policies and local employment laws.

    Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Act as a trusted point of contact for employee inquiries, escalating complex grievances appropriately.

  • Coordinate employee engagement surveys, analyze data, and help implement action plans.

  • Assist in managing disciplinary and grievance processes in compliance with Kenyan labor laws.

    Talent Management & Development

  • Support recruitment lifecycle for specific business portfolios, focusing on quality‑of‑hire and cultural fit.

  • Assist in performance management cycles, ensuring KPIs are tracked and PIPs documented.

  • Identify learning needs and coordinate training with CDL Academy.

    HR Analytics, Compliance & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate employee records and track HR metrics (turnover, time‑to‑hire, absenteeism).

  • Generate weekly and monthly HR dashboards for data‑driven decisions.

  • Audit operational practices to ensure compliance with Employment Act (2007) and IHRM standards.

    Candidate Profile

    You are legally grounded, business‑curious, and emotionally intelligent. You view HR not as an administrative function, but as an engine for business growth.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Minimum 1 year progressive HR experience.

  • CHRP certification (qualified or in progress).

  • Active membership with IHRM Kenya.

    Core Competencies

  • Business Acumen – understanding commercial operations and financial drivers.

  • Communication – exceptional verbal and written skills; ability to influence without authority.

  • Tech‑Savvy – proficiency with HRIS platforms, tracking systems, and advanced Excel/Google Sheets.

  • Discretion – integrity and maturity in handling confidential information.
