CDL Human Resource Business Development Executive - Financial Services Jobs in Kenya; The role holder will drive growth within the financial services sector by developing and expanding relationships with banks, insurance companies, and related financial institutions. Responsibilities include new business acquisition, account growth, and long‑term customer engagement.

Job Responsibilities & Accountability

Financial Services Account Growth & Development

  • Develop and execute growth plans for assigned financial services customers.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision‑makers and stakeholders.

  • Identify opportunities across departments, branches, and business units.

  • Increase customer penetration and wallet share through consultative selling.

  • Strengthen relationships to unlock additional business opportunities.

  • Develop customer‑specific engagement plans for long‑term account growth.

  • Position client solutions based on customer needs and requirements.

    New Business Development

  • Identify, prospect, and acquire new customers within banks, insurance companies, and financial institutions.

  • Create and convert new opportunities through proactive market engagement.

  • Develop tailored proposals and commercial solutions.

  • Lead customer presentations, negotiations, and commercial discussions.

  • Identify and manage tender opportunities from pre‑qualification to award.

  • Explore new revenue opportunities and partnerships in the sector.

    Commercial Management & Execution

  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities.

  • Monitor opportunity progression and conversion plans.

  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, CRM updates, and customer records.

  • Track market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless customer experience.

  • Achieve assigned revenue, gross profit, and collection targets.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Sales & Marketing, or related field.

  • Professional qualification in Sales, Business Development, or Key Account Management (advantage).

  • Exposure to insurance or financial institutions (advantage).

    Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in B2B sales, business development, or key account management.

  • Proven experience managing large corporate customers, preferably banks, insurance companies, or institutional accounts.

  • Demonstrated success in growing accounts and developing new business opportunities.

  • Strong consultative selling and solution development skills.

  • Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.

  • Experience handling tenders, negotiations, and complex commercial opportunities.

  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent planning and relationship management skills.

  • Ability to identify growth opportunities and drive customer expansion.

    Success in this role will be measured by:

  • Achievement of assigned revenue, profitability, and collection targets.

  • Growth and expansion of financial services customers.

  • Acquisition of new high‑value customers.

  • Increased customer penetration and repeat business.

  • Development of strong customer relationships across decision‑making levels.
