CBM Temporary Human Resources Officer Jobs in Kenya


Main objective of the role:

  • As the HR Officer, the job holder is expected to provide of customer focused comprehensive HR services and support across all aspects of the employee lifecycle, in line with operational plans, organizational policies and procedures, within the East Africa Region.

  • This includes all aspects of recruitment and selection, staff placement, training and development, managing the employee database, providing HR metrics and reports and in employee welfare activities amongst others.

    We are looking for someone who will

  • Contribute to the implementation of HR policies and procedures and make recommendations for enhancements to create operational efficiencies;

  • Serves as point of contact and initial escalation point for questions about policy, procedure, and requirements from CO;

  • Monitor all CBM employment contracts dates within the Regional Hub and Country Offices remain updated; managing schedules for contracts renewals, probation review, appraisal feedback as they fall due etc.

  • Prepare job advertisements, receive applications and coordinate recruitment activities interviews for the Regional Hub office recruitments to fill vacant positions within the stipulated time frame and.

  • Facilitate settling in, on boarding and orientation programmes for new employees. Where applicable support in visa and work permit processing.

  • Conduct Training Needs Analysis and process employee requests for external training while complying with set policies and procedures to support employee learning and improved performance; for CBM Regional Hub and Country offices

  • Develop an annual training plan for all based in Kenya in consultation with the line managers to enhance uptake of training activities;

  • Manage accurate and updated Human Resources administrative systems to include but not limited to HRIS, payroll, leave management;

  • Enroll and support Kenya based staff on CBM benefits, and liaise with suppliers to ensure all benefits are as competitive as possible;

  • Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, leave, recruitment, training, performance evaluations etc);

    We are looking
    for someone who has

  • Bachelor’s degree qualifications in human resource management or related discipline;

  • Higher National Diploma in Human Resources Management;

  • Membership with IHRM;

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within a human resources environment

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to understand detailed information

  • Maturity to deal with people at all levels of the organization

  • Demonstrated ability to relate effectively to a diverse range of people

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational and time management skills and meets deadlines with minimal supervision

  • Integrity and approachability

  • Ability to influence and negotiate to implement personnel policies

  • Cross-cultural awareness

  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the region, when required.

  • Willingness to adhere and commit to CBM values and Safeguarding Policy.
