CBM Global Disability Inclusion OPD Partnership Officer Jobs in Kenya



Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and technical support to the OPD Partnership Director in delivering the CBM Global Federation Strategy, focusing on OPD engagement and Preconditions for Inclusion at community level.

  • Contribute to the development, application, and continuous learning of CBM Global’s approaches to OPD engagement, in line with the OPD Partnership Framework.

  • Support country teams, member teams, and partners in promoting OPD engagement across programme cycle phases, ensuring inclusion of underrepresented groups.

  • Provide technical assistance in programme design, review proposals, support new proposal development, and contribute to project review processes.

  • Organize meetings of OPD Engagement focal points, ensure accessibility, take assigned tasks, and follow up on action plans.

  • Support development of Preconditions for Inclusion guidance, practice tools, staff training materials, learnings, and case studies.

  • Contribute to CBM Global’s external profile by preparing OPD engagement and community inclusion‑related articles, news updates, reports, blogs, and social media content.

  • Research and regularly update on new trends and initiatives in community inclusion and OPD engagement across countries.

  • Understand incident management framework and first responder role in recording, responding, and reporting incidents.

  • Apply survivor‑centred approach when receiving complaints or responding to incidents.

  • Know local support services and how to engage them.

  • Listen and accurately document reported concerns and complaints.

  • Respect confidentiality of safeguarding allegations.

  • Apply survivor‑centred approach appropriately.

    Behaviours

  • Be assertive in implementing incident response protocols and gain trust of parties involved.

    Key Outcomes Expected

  • Active and engaged Community Inclusion and OPD engagement Community of Practice.

  • Programme design that includes underrepresented groups across project
    cycle phases.

  • Regular reports on Community Inclusion trends and OPD movement.

  • Accessible, organized, and up‑to‑date templates and process guides.

  • Well‑organized meetings and workshops with executed action plans.

  • Funding applications and project proposals compliant with frameworks, timely submitted, and inclusive of underrepresented groups.

    Requirements for Appointment

  • Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in a national or international NGO at Project Officer level.

  • Experience supporting fundraising opportunities, including proposal development.

  • Proven experience in results‑based management and project cycle management, including budgeting and budget tracking.

  • Demonstrated experience managing relationships and partnerships with implementing partners and stakeholders.

  • Experience working with other organizations and donors.

  • Awareness of OPD movement in the global south and underrepresented groups of persons with disabilities.

  • Strong understanding of the disability movement.

  • Relevant qualifications in project management and administration.

  • Experience managing contracts and budgets of large institutionally funded programmes.

  • English professional proficiency; French an advantage.

  • Experience working in cross‑cultural teams and diverse environments.

  • Strong commitment to disability inclusion and human rights.

  • Lived experience of disability is an advantage.
