Catholic Relief Technical Advisor I - Cash & Markets Jobs in Kenya;Provide technical advice and support on Cash & Market‑based Programming and Food Security & Livelihoods within the Humanitarian Response Department (HRD) Market‑based Rapid Response and Recovery (MBRRR) Team. Contribute to program design, implementation, and capacity strengthening to advance high‑quality humanitarian assistance programming.

Key Responsibilities

Program Design & Strategy

Support development and implementation of agency‑wide strategies, standards, tools, and best practices in Cash & Market‑based Programming.

Ensure cross‑sectoral integration of gender, protection, and disaster risk reduction.

Contribute to technical design of proposals and act as technical writer when needed.

Technical Support & Implementation

Provide programmatic and operational technical solutions to Country Program teams.

Advise on donor strategies, priorities, and technical requirements.

Support cash readiness through SOPs, tools, and pilot program design.

Capacity Strengthening

Develop learning strategies, training agendas, and conduct workshops for staff and partners.

Provide coaching and mentoring to strengthen CVA programming capacity.

Monitoring, Learning & Knowledge Management

Collect and analyse program data, capture lessons learned, and share best practices.

Support CRS’ Cash & Market Programming learning agenda.

Partnerships & Networking

Maintain relationships with donors, peer organizations, and research institutions.

Represent CRS in forums to promote Cash & Market‑based Programming.

Qualifications / Work

Experience

Academic Bachelor’s Degree in Humanitarian Assistance, Social Policy, Economics, or related field (required).

Professional Minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years’ relevant experience with international NGOs, including at least two years in emergency response and cash/market programming.

Professional Experienced trainer in CVA programming with knowledge of multiple delivery mechanisms.

Professional Demonstrated experience designing CVA programs for US Government funding, MPCA, and sectoral cash/voucher programs (Food Security, Livelihoods, Shelter, WASH).

Professional Knowledge of market assessments, response analysis, and e‑voucher platforms (advantage).

Professional Experience in proposal development and innovative project design for rapid response.

Professional Strong relationship management, analytical, technical writing, facilitation, and coaching skills.
