The Position

The prevention lead will support program priorities by supporting community engagement initiatives involving outreach to women, men, and children with HIV self-testing (HIVST) and other prevention-oriented services.

He/she helps communicate the Messages of Hope, to convey a current and current information about HIV and its care and treatment and raises community awareness through program activities and structures. He/she also contributes on-the-ground experiences and ideas to the program overall as a member of the core clinical team.

Responsibilities

  • Support relevant activities in the program work plan, including CQI.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with partners and stakeholders toward program priorities, including policy advocacy efforts, special events, and capacity building activities.
  • Co-represent CMMB in diverse communities, including faith communities, throughout program catchments by public speeches, presentations, steering committee activities, meeting attendance, and one-on-one conversations.
  • Work to strengthen community relationships, including with and among social service agencies and faith-based institutions toward facilitating referrals.
  • Serve as the administrative support of the point of contact for faith leaders to execute activities in connection with faith leaders; help raise the CMMB and CDC/PEPFAR profile among faith communities; collaborate with interfaith bodies to develop and maintain updated and accurate contact list of faith-based leaders and
    organizations.
  • Provide timely reports on activities and support development of any needed monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Encourage all partners to perform their role to highest standard and per agreed mandates.

    Qualifications

  • Nursing license.
  • At least two years’ experience working in HIV.
  • Training and at least two years’ experience in patient counseling.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English; Knowledge of Arabic an advantage.
