CAFOD, SCIAF and Trόcaire (CST) represent the official development agencies of the Catholic Church in England and Wales, Scotland and Ireland.

In Ethiopia, the three agencies work together to help reduce poverty, promote development and respond to humanitarian emergencies with the Catholic Church as well as local and international NGO partners.

Trócaire (on behalf of CAFOD, SCIAF and Trocaire) is currently looking for competent candidate for the position of Programme Officer - Women Empowerment & Peace Building who will base in CST’s office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The role will report to Women Empowerment Programme Coordinator.

Job Scope

Technically support Building effective working relationships with CST & Partner staff to manage projects based on the Women Empowerment framework

Be responsible to manage, advise partners and follow up peace building and reconciliation related initiatives/projects within the CST Country programme.

Job Requirements

Job-Specific Competencies

Masters’ degree in Development Studies, International Relations, Human Rights Law or similar.

5 years and above relevant work Experience in Women Empowerment and Peace Building Programming in the context of Ethiopia.

Demonstrated Experience of mainstreaming on Gender, HIV, Accountability and Protection.

Experience and understanding role of women, religious leaders and local traditional authorities in community based security in peace building, peace and reconciliation in Ethiopian context.

Practical Knowledge & experience in Conflict sensitive programming, coordination capacity building programme, consortium projects, budget management, and partnership approach.

Desirable

Good communication skill and knowledge of local languages especially Afaan Oromo
