Duties And Responsibilities

Administering youth development programs and activities in the department

Coordinating, formulating and implementing policies, programs, strategies, plans, and activities that promote youth development

Mainstreaming youth affairs at local, County, National and international levels

Undertaking research and consultancy and disseminating information on youth development
issues

Coordinating the development of guidelines to strengthen linkages and dynamic partnership
between stakeholders on absorption of youth into employment, internship, and volunteerism;

Ensuring that an integrated youth information system is developed

Coordinating staff performance management training and development.

Monitoring financial and assets administration and management;

Ensuring compliance with Principles and Values of Good governance, Human rights, transparency accountability, ethics and integrity in the department

Any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this position, an officer MUST have: -

Served for a minimum period of three (3) years and above in a comparable and relevant position in the wider public service.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences from a university recognized in Kenya;

A Master’s Degree in Social Sciences from a university recognized in Kenya; and

Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Program lasting not less than six (6) weeks or its equivalent from a recognized institution

Certificate in computer applications

Demonstrated managerial, administrative and professional competence on matters relating to
management and development of youth in the country
