About the role

Burn is looking for a data analyst who will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data across the business to make informed decisions and assist in making sound decisions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • BI reporting: Generate BI reports, dashboards, and data models with the help of the BI tools and MS-Office products available in the organization and present consequent reports to management and other stakeholders.

  • Data management and Analysis work with large data sets, manage and manipulate them through programming using such tools as Ms. Excel VBA, R, MYSQL, Python, et al to generate actionable insights for management for decision making.

  • Automated data extraction from primary and secondary sources using tools like APIs, web scrapping techniques, SQL triggers, etc.

  • Collaborate with departments that generate and consume homegrown data including after-sales, market research, carbon, commercial, electric, expansion, and new product development to validate data sources and deliver quality data output that is usable for strategic decision making.

  • Continuously monitor core reporting systems to maintain expected standards of data integrity for all data-related projects through processing, cleaning, and verifying the integrity of data across multiple databases

  • Develop data management protocols and systems: work closely with BI analysts, data scientists, fellow data analysts, and other relevant internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements, and aid in the design, development, and implementation of new applications for managing big
    data.

  • Monitor critical analytics and metrics results and communicate the same effect promptly to user departments and any other external stakeholders.

  • Develop policies and procedures/SOPs for the collection and analysis of data for the existing and new data processes.

  • Execute ad-hoc requests on data mining and exploratory statistics tasks on large data sets and make presentations on the findings.

    Skills and Experience

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Applied statistics/ Mathematics/ Actuarial science/ Data science/ Economics & Statistics/ Operations research

  • At least 1 year of experience in a BI or data science environment

  • Proven experience with programming for data analysis, Excel, and at least one programming language R, Python, SQL.

  • Experience in Data visualization with at least PowerBI, Tableau, QuickSight, etc.

  • Possess great communication skills for effective communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience in cross-department functioning, and reporting/presentation to relevant stakeholders
