Burhani Engineers Ltd Construction Interior Designer Jobs in Kenya;The Construction Interior Designer will independently manage interior design projects from inception to completion. The role involves developing design concepts, preparing drawings and presentations, coordinating project execution, managing client relationships, conducting site inspections, and ensuring delivery within approved budgets, timelines, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Interior Design Development

  • Develop creative and functional interior design concepts.

  • Prepare mood boards, material palettes, layouts, and presentations.

  • Produce detailed drawings, specifications, and schedules.

  • Recommend finishes, furniture, fixtures, lighting, and accessories.

  • Ensure compliance with building regulations and safety standards.

    Project Coordination & Execution

  • Manage projects from design stage through handover.

  • Conduct site surveys and gather requirements.

  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and clients.

  • Monitor progress and maintain design intent during installation.

  • Resolve design‑related issues on site.

    Client Relationship Management

  • Meet clients to understand requirements and expectations.

  • Present proposals and obtain approvals.

  • Provide updates and respond to client concerns.

  • Build and maintain positive client relationships.

    Budget & Cost Control

  • Prepare cost estimates and material schedules.

  • Align designs with approved budgets.

  • Recommend cost‑effective alternatives.

  • Monitor variations and communicate cost implications.

    Site Supervision & Quality Assurance

  • Conduct site inspections during implementation.

  • Verify workmanship and materials against specifications.

  • Prepare observation reports and recommend corrective actions.

  • Ensure projects meet required quality standards.

    Facilities Maintenance & Renovation

  • Inspect facilities for repair and renovation needs.

  • Plan and oversee maintenance and renovation projects.

  • Recommend cost‑effective improvements for functionality and safety.

  • Coordinate contractors and monitor quality of works.

    Procurement & Supplier Coordination

  • Source materials, finishes, furniture,
    and décor items.

  • Evaluate supplier proposals and samples.

  • Coordinate deliveries and installation schedules.

  • Maintain supplier and contractor relationships.

    Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate project records and approvals.

  • Prepare progress reports and status updates.

  • Ensure proper filing of project documentation.

    Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.

  • Professional certification in Interior Design an added advantage.

    Experience

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in Interior Design and construction projects.

  • Proven experience handling interior fit‑out projects independently.

  • Experience in commercial, residential, hospitality, or corporate projects desirable.

    Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3Ds Max, Lumion, or similar software.

  • Strong space planning and visualization skills.

  • Knowledge of materials, finishes, furniture, and construction methods.

  • Knowledge of building maintenance and renovation planning.

  • Excellent coordination and organizational abilities.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently.

  • Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.

  • High attention to detail and quality standards.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
