Britam Uganda Finance Associate Jobs

Job Purpose and Key responsibilities

The job holder will be responsible for Finance operations in the Business relating to the Company’s Unit Trust Funds and Alternative Products.

The job holder will report to the General Manager (Asset Managers Uganda) and The Finance Manager based in Kenya.

Key Responsibilities

Recording all transactions including cash book entries and other accruals for preparation of financial statements for the entities as assigned in compliance with the accounting standards

Preparation of various accounts reconciliations including bank reconciliations as assigned

Processing of supplier payments including commissions within the proper procedures

Preparing financial statements for the entities

Debtors and cash flow management

Facilitating internal and external audits of the entities

Liaising with other departments to collate and analysis of information for purposes of budgeting

Ensuring compliance with statutory and other relevant regulatory bodies in Uganda including tax matters

Commission processing and payments and managing company receivables

Performing any other duties as may be assigned

Key Performance Measures

Turnaround times for financial statements reporting as per set timelines

Turnaround times for accounts reconciliations as per set

timelines and level of un-reconciled items

Debt management as per set levels

Turnaround times for filing of statutory returns as per set timelines and compliance to other regulatory requirements

Working Relationships

Business Operations team Kenya and Uganda

Finance Team in Kenya and Uganda

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required

Knowledge And Experience

Preparation of financial accounts and statements

Internal and External audit support

Financial analysis and budgeting

Supplier payments and cash flow management

Qualifications

Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting, Finance) or its equivalent

2 – 3 years’ experience in a busy Financial Services environment

Professional Accounting Certification (ACCA, CPA)
