Britam Quality Assurance Officer Jobs in Kenya; Reporting to the Project Implementation Auditor, support the delivery of independent, risk‑based assurance over IT projects across their lifecycle. Contribute to assessing project governance, control effectiveness, and delivery quality, while supporting timely reporting of project risks and progress to Management, Project Steering Committees, and the Audit function.
Key Responsibilities
Review project governance structures, risk management practices, and control frameworks across IT projects.
Assist in planning and executing project implementation assurance reviews in line with international standards.
Develop detailed project assurance programmes, checklists, and testing procedures.
Perform assurance testing across key project phases including initiation, design, implementation, UAT, go‑live, and post‑implementation review.
Evaluate project risks related to scope, cost, timelines, quality, data integrity, security, and compliance.
Conduct walkthroughs and controls testing to assess adequacy and effectiveness of project controls.
Monitor remediation of previously raised project issues and track implementation of management actions.
Collate, document, and analyse project findings, observations, and recommendations.
Prepare draft assurance reports, project status updates, and risk summaries.
Engage with project teams, IT, business stakeholders, and vendors to clarify project issues.
Support assurance coverage for regional and multi‑country system deployments.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in project delivery practices and assurance approaches.
Apply basic data analytics and automated testing techniques to support assurance activities.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, IT standards, regulatory requirements, and governance frameworks.
Deliver responsibilities in line with Internal Audit strategy and departmental
objectives.
Requirements for Appointment
Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Accounting, Audit, or related field.
2–4 years’ experience in IT audit, project assurance, IT risk management, or related governance role.
Part‑qualified or pursuing certifications such as ISTQB, CISA, ITIL, Prince2, PMP is an added advantage.
Knowledge of IT project lifecycle methodologies (SDLC, Agile, Waterfall) and project management principles.
Understanding of IT General Controls, information security, data integrity, and system implementation risks.
Exposure to internal control frameworks, risk assessment techniques, and audit testing procedures.
Basic proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, ACL, IDEA).
Exposure to defect management, performance testing, and test automation tools (LoadRunner, JMeter).
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and clear documentation ability.
Good interpersonal and communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
High integrity, professional judgement, and willingness to learn in IT assurance.
