Britam Head of Pension Administration Jobs in Kenya;Provide overall oversight of the pension administration business and ensure retention of pension business.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
Develop and execute strategic direction, business plans and operating model for Pension Administration.
Drive growth, profitability and sustainability through market expansion, client retention and service innovation.
Lead digital and process transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes and market developments, providing strategic recommendations.
Client Relationship & Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with scheme sponsors, trustees, regulators and stakeholders.
Serve as escalation point for complex client issues, ensuring timely resolution.
Collaborate with custodians, trustees, investment managers, actuaries, auditors and service providers.
Lead client engagement initiatives, reviews and retention strategies.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Ensure schemes are administered in line with Retirement Benefits Act, RBA Regulations, KRA requirements and Trust Deeds.
Oversee compliance monitoring, regulatory reporting and governance frameworks.
Ensure timely licensing and renewal requirements are met.
Establish risk management and internal control frameworks to safeguard assets.
Lead regulatory engagements, audits and inspections.
Operations & Service Delivery
Provide leadership for end‑to‑end administration of pension schemes.
Oversee processing and settlement of member benefits, contributions, transfers and payments.
Drive operational excellence through process improvement and performance monitoring.
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of management, trustee, board and regulatory reports.
Governance Meetings & Regulatory Engagement
Lead planning and servicing of trustee, AGM and statutory meetings.
Provide
guidance to trustees and sponsors on governance and compliance.
Ensure implementation and follow‑up of resolutions.
People Leadership
Provide leadership, coaching and development of the Pension Administration team.
Establish departmental objectives and monitor performance.
Lead succession planning, talent development and workforce capability initiatives.
Financial & Performance Management
Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring cost optimisation.
Monitor and report on KPIs, service metrics and compliance standards.
Identify revenue enhancement opportunities and implement initiatives.
Other Responsibilities
Exercise delegated authority per approved matrix.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field.
Diploma in Insurance.
Master’s degree (added advantage).
Professional qualification in Pension Management.
7–10 years’ insurance experience, with at least 3 years in management.
Significant stakeholder management experience.
Technical / Functional Competencies
Knowledge of pension administration industry and concepts.
Customer, market and competitor understanding.
Knowledge of RBA regulatory requirements.
