Job Description

Our client improves the lives of small dairy farmers by offering the most cost-effective bio-gas solutions in Kenya and around the globe. They are at an exciting stage of growth as we scale up to deliver systems in quantity through collaboration with impact partners across Africa.

Role Brief:

As the Project Manager, you will play an important role as they expand in Africa, collaborating with partner organizations to introduce our systems to other areas of the continent. You will work alongside the client leadership team in Kenya and the global development team in Israel to implement the strategy for this rapid ambitious phase of scaling and growth.

You will be the focal point in the development of partner collaborations with NGOs and other organizations in Africa to bring our systems to their beneficiaries at scale.

What you can Expect to be Doing:

  • Lead expansion projects in various new areas of operation. (East Africa, West Africa and beyond)

  • Manage communication and resources allocations required to initiate and complete each project.

  • Develop structures, processes and standards of operations required to run pilot projects in new areas.

  • Build and develop partnerships and collaboration with international, regional and national African organizations, NGOs and other relevant partners.

  • Provide support to develop programs with close coordination with partners

  • Prepare proposals outlining collaboration programs.

  • Explore and prepare grants in support of programs.

  • Coordinate with all parties, including distributors and other suppliers to implementation programs.

  • Identify opportunities for collaboration through tenders and other projects.

  • Be responsible for the reporting requirements of the partner organizations.

  • Participating in conferences, meetups and other sector events.

  • Speaking at different types of events to explain the benefits of the system.

  • Develop deep understanding and knowledge of the renewable energy landscape and the role of non-profit organizations within this.

  • Actively contribute to the development of collaboration strategies in Africa.

  • Work to manage projects from inception to end, while ensuring program delivery is done in respect to timelines and set targets.

    Requirements

    Requirements to apply for the role:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or Project Management MBA.

  • Experience and expert knowledge in the Renewable Energy sector in Africa.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.

  • Proven track record of successful fundraising and project management.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and inter-personal skills.

  • Ability to represent HBG and build relationships at an Executive level.

  • Ability to be a self-starter and collaborate with various client stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of international and regional development organizations (NGOs, Funding partners, etc) operating systems and collaboration requirements.

    Other Requirements to Support Candidacy to the Role:

  • Availability for frequent travel (40-50% travel requirement on a need and project basis).

  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili, French is an added advantage.
