Brambles primarily serves the fast-moving consumer goods (e.g. dry food, grocery, and health and personal care), fresh produce, beverage, retail and general manufacturing industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Key areas of responsibilities include Succession planning, Career pathing, Future wave programmes, Inclusion & Diversity, Capability and skills development, Leading annual talent cycle and shaping the talent approach for the respective region
  • Develop a coherent talent management strategy for the region which incorporates the existing skillset and the future demands in order to develop the right skills to ensure delivery of our Talent Strategy through local execution of our Talent and L&D programmes.
  • In partnership with the HRBP, work with the business leaders to effectively understand and address talent, capability and skills needs of the business.
  • Develop & manage the integrated capability and skills development plans that support the critical areas for the business (e.g. Leadership, supply chain, commercial, functional etc ) to drive business growth
  • Lead at least one assigned global Talent & Learning activity (e.g. Emerging Leaders Programme, Graduate Programme, Brambles Employee Survey, Performance Management Process, Annual Talent Review, Development Centres at Band 3 &4, ADP & TDP)
  • Create Training Needs Analysis and Capability Gaps within Region/Function and deliver local training as required.
  • Support or lead, as appropriate, Inclusion and Diversity initiatives in the Region/Function including consideration of talent strategy to meet local diversity mandates such as BBBEE
  • Support the local HR in Top Employer process
    for the assigned region
  • Facilitate and support the HRBP in Organisational Design activities within Region/Function.
  • Facilitate and support HRBP in Strategic Workforce Planning Sessions with Country Leadership teams.
  • As part of the global team, deliver agreed global and BU specific talent management objectives in the region in partnership with the business
  • Establish and maintain collaborative partnering relationships with business stakeholders in the region, including HRBP, Regional President, Functional Directors, CGMs and Country leadership teams
  • Specific focus on strengthening leadership bench strength and succession plans for key roles in Region/Function
  • Manage regional talent databases as part of an up to date global talent management database
  • Work closely with Regional Recruitment to ensure the smooth flow of talent across the organisation
  • Compile a training plan inclusive of budget each year for approval by Director and ensure timeous implementation of the plan with BBBEE targets in mind
  • Manage risk by being compliant with SSA labour laws and recommendations.
  • Manage the facilitation of the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP)
  • Prepare & submit annual EE report & Bi-annual analysis
  • Research skills development trends, legislation and best practice within parameters of the SETA requirements
  • Plan, manage and coordinate Workplace Employment Equity and Skills Development Committee

    Requirements

  • Relevant Professional Qualification e.g. CIPD, SHRM, MSc Occupational Psychology.
  • Certified Coach
  • Skills Development Facilitator
  • Certified assessor of psychometric tools
  • At least 5-7 years’ experience in an HR generalist or L&D/Talent function in either a reputed multinational or consulting firm
  • Experience in developing and executing Talent strategy in an international business
  • Experience in operating in a matrix organisational setup
  • Proven experience in influencing senior stakeholders
  • Preferably having at least 2-3 years’ experience in a country of the region
  • Global experience, working across borders and cultures
  • Experience with aligning BBBEE plan with L&D programs
  • Good understanding of the SETA processes and procedures
