An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Braebum Group of Schools for the position of a dynamic and passionate Group Legal Manager. Under the supervision of the Managing Director, the Group Legal Manager shall per-form all legal support related duties in the legal department.


Braeburn School Group Legal Manager Vacancies in Kenya

Responsibilities

  • Managing the legal department, supervising, providing guidance and coordinating the work of the department
  • Giving advise/opinions and handling legal issues for the group.
  • Liaising with all the departments and Schools within the group and providing legal advice to them as appropriate.
  • Ensuring statutory compliance.
  • Oversight debt collection and input where legal issues arise in collection of cement debts, including bankruptcies and receiverships
  • Participating in the assigned group committees meetings and providing reports as appropriate
  • Liaising with extemal law firms to ensure their effective performance in security documentation, court cases and other legal issues
  • In house pm-trial briefing and preparation, accompanying witnesses to court and police stations, if need be
  • Negotiating interpreting and vetting agreements, conveyances, policies and other technical documents
  • Incorporation and winding up of companies, registration of
    partnerships and business names, mergers, take-overs and acquisitions

    Qualification

  • A relevant Degree from a recognized institution and a member of Law Society of Kenya.
  • A minimum 2 years' experience in a busy legal office.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, planning and organization skills.
  • Must be computer literate
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision.
  • Experience in a multicultural environment is an added advantage.
