Responsibilities

Reporting to the facility /department- in -charge, the officer will: -

  • Develop assistive and adaptive devices and equipment commonly used in Orthopaedic Technology

  • Provide guidance in the development of procedures for the department

  • Make decisions regarding work processes based on established guidelines

  • Prioritize and organize work to meet changing conditions

    Requirements

  • Diploma in Orthopaedic Technology from KMTC or approved government medical training institution

  • Member of the National Association for Orthopaedic Technologists in Kenya

  • Knowledge of modern orthopaedic equipment., plaster technology, appliances and materials

  • Knowledge of affirmative action and rights of persons with disabilities

  • Ability to assess client needs, design, make fit and train users on a variety of adaptive devices and equipment

  • Demonstrable skills and experience in orthopaedic technology using modern equipment and tools

  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution
