Job Summary

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the General Manager will oversee the overall management and administration of Bomas of Kenya and will be responsible for steering the organization and ensuring that it achieves its mandate. The General Manager will be responsible for the to day management of the Organization.


The Contract will be for an initial period of three (3) years renewable subject to outstanding performance and achievements of defined goals and targets.

Responsibilities

a) Oversee the formulation and implementation of appropriate policies and procedures within the Organisation and as guided by the Board;
b) Provide organizational leadership and supervision in order to achieve the Board’s goals;
c) Provide leadership in integrity assurance in order to achieve good corporate governance;
d) Spearheading initiatives in seeking sources of finance for various programs and overseeing its application;
e) Developing and recommending to the Board the corporate policies, long term strategy, business plans, and annual operating budgets: and establishing proper internal monitoring and control systems and procedures;
f) Ensure continuous improvement in the quality and value of services and products provided by the Board;
g) Ensure adherence to proper management practices, operational efficiency and corporate reporting requirement of the Board;
h) Ensure compliance with the government’s regulatory directives and reporting requirements, and otherwise ensuring compliance with the laws of the country;
i) Demonstrated outstanding administrative capability and professional competence and integrity in work performance and results;

Job Requirements

Required education: Post-graduate education

Required relevant work experience: 10 years

Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
