Boma Projects Mentor - Elgade Jobs in Kenya;BOMA is seeking qualified and experienced Mentors to deliver day‑to‑day implementation of the SOIL Program in Marsabit County.

This is a field‑based role responsible for program delivery through monthly coaching, mentorship, facilitation, training, market linkages and follow‑up activities to achieve outcomes in nutrition, livelihoods, entrepreneurship, savings, resilience and child well‑being.

The Mentor must be a member of the community/village where the project is implemented, with clear understanding of local culture, language and geography. Reporting to the Field Officer, the Mentor will lead participant mobilization, VSLA group formation, capacity building, business coaching, monitoring and data collection, while ensuring collaboration with community and government stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Program Delivery & Mentorship

Build trusted relationships with participants and provide coaching.

Conduct monthly mentorship sessions with households, BGs and VSLAs.

Track participant progress and escalate issues to Field Officer.

Facilitate household visioning and action planning.

Use BOMA’s digital systems to plan, document and report.

Entrepreneurship & Enterprise Development

Deliver trainings on life skills, entrepreneurship, agri‑nutrition and financial literacy.

Guide participants to identify viable livelihood opportunities.

Support enterprise start‑up and strengthen business management skills.

Facilitate market linkages and income diversification.

Savings & Financial Inclusion

Support formation and strengthening of Savings Groups/VSLAs.

Facilitate sessions on savings, borrowing and financial planning.

Coach participants on responsible financial decision‑making.

Food Security, Nutrition & Child Well‑being

Deliver nutrition resilience package through training and coaching.

Promote dietary diversity and kitchen gardens.

Support referrals for nutrition and health services.

Resilience & Community Engagement

Coach households on managing shocks and adopting

climate‑resilient practices.

Mobilize community members and build stakeholder relationships.

Monitoring & Reporting

Collect and submit accurate program data using digital tools.

Document success stories and lessons learned.

Program Quality & Safeguarding

Implement activities in line with BOMA’s standards and safeguarding policies.

Ensure inclusive participation and confidentiality of participant information.

Field Operations & Teamwork

Plan daily field activities and manage program resources responsibly.

Work closely with Field Officers, CHPs and community stakeholders.

Requirements

Diploma in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Agribusiness, Agriculture, Community Development, Nutrition, Community Health, Public Health, Social Work, Development Studies, Project Management or related field.

Minimum 2 years’ experience in community‑based program implementation.

Experience in community mobilization, mentorship, business coaching or VSLA facilitation.

Experience working with women, pastoralist or vulnerable communities desirable.

Digital literacy and experience with data collection tools.

Strong interpersonal, coaching and facilitation skills.

Must be a resident of the program location/village.

Fluency in English, Kiswahili and local language.

Valid motorcycle riding licence Class A1/A2 (mandatory).
